Staff Appreciation – by Students
How Students Can Show Appreciation!
All the students at Flo Ro will be decorating and writing notes to their main teachers during art class in preparation for Staff Appreciation Week. We also encourage children to send a note from home to any of their other favorite staff members showing him/her how much they care. We will be collecting these notes and distributing them to all staff members (specials teachers, paras, administration, special education teachers, custodians, lunch staff and speech, reading, OT specialists, etc.)
Please send any notes in an envelope marked “Staff Appreciation Committee” and we will make sure they get delivered! Make sure to write To: and From: on the top of each individual note so we know who they belong to.

All notes must be sent in by Friday March 30th. Please contact Emily Slater at [email protected] with any questions.

Happy New Year!!!

The Florence Roche – Boutwell PTA Board would like to wish you and yours a very Happy New Year!

Important PTA News!
The PTA needs YOU!!! This year all of our board positions are up for elections. While some of the board members are willing to run for another position or stay on and get re-elected to their current positions, there are some who are ready to pass the torch. To keep the PTA functioning the way it is and continue to bring grant money to our teachers and events for our students, we need people to step up. We know some people may think they do not have enough time to devote to a board position, so we wanted to take time and explain exactly what is expected of each position. Over the next few weeks, we will explain each position in the PTA newsletter and give a run down of what is required.  We will also post a video on Facebook explaining the positions in detail. It is important for our parents to understand that if the positions aren’t filled, the PTA will not be able to do what we do, and no one wants that. If you have ever thought that you might want to help the PTA in a bigger way, please reach out to Sara at [email protected]. She will meet with you to talk more about the positions and answer any questions.

Many slots still open!
Please consider volunteering and make a difference in your child’s classroom!

What is a room parent?  A room parent is a volunteer who serves as a helper to both the teacher and the parents of the class.  It is a great way to make a difference in your child’s class, while providing support for your teacher.  Two room parents are needed per class and are selected by lottery.
Some responsibilities include:
-Create a class list for contact purposes throughout the school year.
-Communicate teacher needs for volunteers or supplies.
-Help with and/or solicit volunteers for special classroom events, copying or administrative tasks as needed.
-Coordinate with PTA event chairs (Holiday Fair, Memory Book etc)
-Select Holiday Fair classroom basket theme, collect and organize donations and Holiday Raffle packets and attend basket wrapping event in November.
-Photography of classroom events for Memory Book.
-Attend the room parent information meeting on Tuesday   9/13 at 7PM.

If interested in placing your name in the room parent lottery please contact Linda Lee with your name and classroom teacher by this Friday 9/9.   Notifications will go out over the weekend with room parent meeting on Tuesday 9/13 @ 7PM in the Flo Ro cafeteria.
